Performance CyclingLight weight aluminium and magnesium components have been in use in the cycling industry for some years but the tendency of traditional surface treatments to discolour and delaminate has been an issue. Keronite has developed a number of applications with leading producers which overcome these difficulties and have exclusively developed a number of products that will be launched for the 2010 season. Race YachtingWeight saving on performance yachts has been a continuing drive over many years. Aluminium winches were adopted by the sport as one component in this story, however conventional anodised surfaces become slippery when wet. Several years ago competitors started to notice a number of teams were able to tack more quickly; they'd adopted Keronite treated winches that were able to provide corrosion protection and a surface which offered good grip, even when wet. Another unique feature of the Keronite technology is that it can be used to repair surfaces that have previously been treated and subjected to the rigours of in-service conditions. Parts are now routinely returned to the Company's service centre in the UK, where the treatment is reapplied and the part returned to the customer in an 'as new' condition. |
