Aesthetics

Hard, tactile surfaces that provide additional protection to light alloys are becoming increasingly attractive to modern designers, especially our matte black coatings.  They describe these surfaces as Haptic, in that they are simultaneously appealing both visually and to the touch.  In addition to the superb aesthetics of our matte black Keronite coating, you also benefit from wear and corrosion protection and excellent UV stability that doesn't fade like coloured hard anodise.

Consumer Electronics

Everywhere in the consumer electronics sector companies are looking for the next big thing to differentiate their products from their competitor's.  In addition to this need to be different, the portable electronics sector (especially mobile phones) is constantly looking for ways to improve the look, feel, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and hardness of their products, while reducing weight.  Keronite provides all of these features in one ceramic coating!  Especially popular is our matte black Keronite that provides a UV stable, highly wear resistant coating to aluminium that won't scratch and is harder than steel, sand or glass!

Architecture

Aluminium cladding has been a material of choice for a number of years as a highly effective, light weight system to protect the exterior of buildings.  Increasingly however building maintenance considerations are driving architects to look for more effective long term protection systems.  Keronite developed a specific variant of the core technology that provided a highly cost effective corrosion protection layer that when combined in a Duplex system could provide an exciting range of colours and finishes and corrosion protection guaranteed for 25 years.

Keronite treated cladding systems are currently in use on buildings in Scandinavia and Europe and specified on buildings currently in construction in the Middle East.

CookwarePPP

PTFE has been the non-stick coating of choice for many years. However recent studies have shown significant accumulation of residues of this chemical in young people, so over the coming years the use of this material in cookware is to be phased out.  The factor that made PTFE popular however was its excellent non-stick properties while offering reasonably good adhesion to the substrate.  Many alternative non-stick coatings are very fragile and cannot survive the normal duty cycle of cookware.  When combined with Keronite a new range of nano-materials that provide superb non-stick properties can be protected sufficiently to offer hundreds of cycles in the dishwasher as well as protection from the normal wear and tear of being used on the stove top.
