CookwarePTFE has been the non-stick coating of choice for many years. However recent studies have shown significant accumulation of residues of this chemical in young people, so over the coming years the use of this material in cookware is to be phased out. The factor that made PTFE popular however was its excellent non-stick properties while offering reasonably good adhesion to the substrate. Many alternative non-stick coatings are very fragile and cannot survive the normal duty cycle of cookware. When combined with Keronite a new range of nano-materials that provide superb non-stick properties can be protected sufficiently to offer hundreds of cycles in the dishwasher as well as protection from the normal wear and tear of being used on the stove top. |
